| Akbar, Copper Unit, 9.25g,15-15mm, Gujarat, Shri Akbar Legend, Obv: Kalima, Rev: Full name of Akbar, with a Gujarati/Nagari inscription 'Sri Ra Shri Akbar'. with almost the entire Devanagari legend on the flan, Reference: Coin No. 165413 on www.zeno.ru A 'Kori'-standard coin struck somewhere in Gujarat in Akbar's name soon after the Mughal conquest - the Gujarati inscription is also found on some local standard copper coins of Ahmedabad mint, so it is likely that these were struck there as well. Very Fine, Extremely Rare. |
