Chauhans of Ranthambore (Ranastambhapura), Rajasthan Jaitrasimha, 13 Cen AD, Silver, 4.38g, 12.68x12.72 mm, Obv: Lion to left with front paw raised. Double dotted circle around, Rev: Legend reads in Nagari script in three lines “Jai/TaSiDe/Va”, Sun and moon symbols flanking the letter on the third line, A dotted circle around. V Scarce in this grade. The Chauhans of Ranathambore were on and off vassals of the Delhi Sultanate. Jaitrasimha was the penultimate ruler of this dynasty. Alauddin Khalji finally occupied Ranathambore in 1301. Very Fine+, Scarce. Estimate
