Vijayanagara kingdom, Sadashivaraya, 1543-67 AD, Gold Varaha, 3.43g, 9.56x9.32 mm, Obv: Lord Vishnu seated in padmasana with his consort Lakshmi sitting on his left thigh, Vishnu is holding discus(chakra) and conch(Shanka), Rev: Nagari legend in three lines reading “ShriSa/DaShiVa/Ra(YaRu)”. Ref: Studies in Vijayanagar Coins K Ganesh #159 pg 83. Sadashivaraya was the puppet ruler under AliyaRamaraya. After the gruesome battle of Talikota in 1565, Sadashivaraya was placed in Chandragiri where as Penukonda became the new capital of Vijayanagar. Very Fine, Rare. Estimate
